Advocacy for who you’re becoming
Purposeful evolution.
You train hard, or you want to. You stall, second-guess the plan, swing between all-in and burnt out, and every expert online seems to be talking to someone else. What you need isn’t more pressure. It’s someone in your corner who has been there, sees the whole picture, and holds the balance. Someone who can see what you’re capable of before you can, and will fight for you to get there. No judgment. Just perspective.
Two starting points
Where are you right now?
FOUNDATION
I’m starting, or starting over.
You’ve never trained with intent, or you have and it didn’t stick. We learn the system first, slowly, in the room. Nobody is judged for where they start.
See the Foundation trackREFINEMENT
I train seriously and I’m stuck.
You know the work. The questions have gotten quieter and heavier. We find what your body responds to, cut what it doesn’t, and go after the potential you haven’t tested yet.
See the Refinement trackYou’re in it
Wherever you are, you’re in it.
If you are starting out, the noise is the problem. A million experts, a thousand programs, and no way to tell which advice is for you. What you need first is a system, taught slowly, and someone who has stood where you are standing.
If you have trained for years, you are standing in the same place. A million ways to optimize, a million science-based protocols, a million experts, and none of it is about you. You already know effort matters and consistency isn’t optional. What you don’t have is a way to tell which of the noise is signal. Now the questions are quieter. And heavier.
Sometimes we are too close to see the path. The closer you are to the work, the harder it is to separate productive signal from ingrained habit. Many training directions can feel right once you are past the simple mistakes. Second-guessing? Even the pros do it.
Caring raises the stakes
Some people learn through years of experience. Others choose to benefit from the experience of someone beside them. Both are valid.
When you care deeply about your training, choices can feel more important than they really are, and mistakes can still be missed. Outside perspective honors your dedication. I have done the years in the grind. What I bring is what I didn’t have then: an advocate, a mentor, and the nuance to know what matters and what doesn’t. I don’t judge where you are. I stand up for where you’re headed, and I will fight for you to reach your potential.
How I support you
Structure that sees you, and holds the balance.
Effort and recovery. Discipline and perspective. The work and the life around it. Every piece below is built to keep those in balance, not to tip you into the grind. The rule behind it is on the Balance page.
01
Training program design
Thoughtfully structured training built around your body, your schedule and your goals. Each phase has intention and reason, and adjustments are made with your feedback playing the major role.
02
Nutrition guidance
Simple, high-level, realistic guidance, not rules, that supports performance, recovery and confidence.
03
In-person training sessions
Hands-on support when it matters most. Form, intensity, reps in reserve. Not just the how, but the why. For beginners, the room is where the system gets learned.
The first step
Let’s get to know the future you.
The first step isn’t changing anything. It’s being understood. The questionnaire takes about twenty minutes, and there are no right answers.
Or just ask
Working together starts with a conversation. Reach me at evolvingforstrength@gmail.com.
How it works
Your goal is the starting point. Your potential is where we’re going.
You come in with a goal, and I take it seriously. It is yours, and it is where we start. But an advocate’s job is to see further than the goal: to notice, early, when you are capable of more than you asked for, and to say so. It’s not about control. Only you control you. It’s about speaking for the version of you that’s still becoming, and keeping the balance while you get there. Two tracks, one method, depending on where you start.
What an advocate does
01
Pattern recognition
See patterns early, and be transparent with you about them. Including the pattern of someone who can do more than she thinks.
02
Objective perspective
Bring clarity to the variables. Quiet the noise of a million experts.
03
Nuance
What matters, and what doesn’t. Emotional management when the stakes feel high, and the judgment to tell a real signal from a loud one.
What if?
What if you evolve the way you want? What if you achieve exactly what you want? What if your potential is bigger than what you asked for?
Purposeful training
Every session and phase serves a purpose. Sometimes physical. Sometimes emotional. Sometimes spiritual. Always intentional.
Intentional adjustments
Life’s ups and downs will change our day to day, but we’ll always move forward. Even a step that feels backwards is life making sure you deal with adversity well.
Potential
You will be pushed. Not to a number I picked. To a place you don’t yet believe you can go.
Most people have never been to certain physical and mental places, so they don’t believe those places exist for them. I can see when someone can do more. That is the part of this job I take most seriously: recognizing potential, and then standing beside you while you go find out it was real.
The push is never about proving something to me. It is about showing you what was already there.
What working together looks like
I will advocate for you on the path you choose, with respect, honesty and effort.
Get to know the future you
You fill in the questionnaire, about twenty minutes. Within two days you get a written reply from me, not a form letter. Then we talk, in person or on a call, and go through it together. No changes yet. First, being understood. Nothing is paid before we talk.
Purposeful training
Your first program lands within a week of that conversation. A reason behind every phase, adjusted every Sunday from your check-in. Stimulus balanced against recovery, so none of the effort is junk volume.
Perspective, and a push
In the gym and between sessions: the why behind the work, the nuance of what matters, and an honest read when something is off. And when I can see more in you than you can, I say so, and we go get it.
Less of me over time
The goal is a you who understands the decisions, not a you who depends on me to make them.
What I ask of you
Three things.
Communication
Honest feedback on pain, fatigue, or life getting in the way. Overdid it? Underdid it? That’s critical information. It’s not good or bad. It just is. This process is about you, not the other way around.
Mutual respect
We respect your body, your drive and your limitations. We respect each other’s feedback. We respect the process, the partnership built on trust, and the time and energy we both bring.
Curiosity
Stay curious. Growth happens on many fronts, at different paces. Stay committed to evolving for strength.
Two tracks
One method. Two starting points.
FOUNDATION
Learn the system
For someone who has never trained with intent, or has tried and fallen off. Habits before intensity. The mechanics of lifting, taught slowly, with form before weight. How to read a label, how to eat with purpose, how to track without obsessing. Every workout is a deposit, and the first twelve weeks are about learning the system so it becomes yours. You have more in you than you think. That is usually the first thing I see.
In person and online. Form has to be taught in the room.
REFINEMENT
Learn what your body responds to
For the athlete who already trains seriously and is past beginner mistakes. Perspective, nuance and purposeful adjustments. Stimulus balanced against recovery, weak points addressed on purpose, and the noise of a million experts quieted down to what your own body is telling you. Then we test the ceiling.
In person and online, or online only.
Where
In person, we train at your gym. Online, wherever you already train. Foundation is in person and online; Refinement can also be online only.
Your program
Built for you, on a shared sheet you open on your phone. Updated once a week from your feedback: exercise selection, volume, intensity, balanced against your recovery. On Foundation, the early weeks are simple on purpose.
Questions between sessions
Email or text, any question, comment or feedback. Answered within 24 hours.
Nutrition
General guidance geared toward body recomposition. Recommendations, not meal plans. Not rules.
Time frame
An initial three-month block. At the end of it we sit down together and decide what comes next.
Who this is for
- You want to train with intent, whether you are starting out or years in.
- You are done guessing, and done with advice that was never about you.
- You want perspective from someone who has been there, not pressure from someone who hasn’t.
- You suspect you are capable of more, and you want someone who will fight for that.
- You are willing to be honest about pain, fatigue and life getting in the way.
Who this is not for
- Anyone looking to be pushed, yelled at, or optimized.
- Anyone who wants a meal plan handed to them.
- Anyone who wants the coach to want it more than they do.
Being seen clearly
True advocacy doesn’t drag you anywhere. It stands beside you, holds the balance, fights for your potential, and protects the best version of you as your vision unfolds and the path becomes clear.
About Alex
I’m the advocate for your potential.
In your corner means this: I push back on bad advice, including mine. I adjust the plan when life moves. I teach you the why, so you need me less over time. I don’t judge where you are. And when I see potential you haven’t tested, I fight for it, because you can’t believe in a place you’ve never been.

I’m not a certified trainer and I’m not a certified nutritionist. What I am is certified by the years: the grind, the mistakes, and the balance that eventually came out of them. Mentor, not manager.
Drop one in the Brand folder.
I didn’t start training for my health, and not for vanity either. I started because I didn’t want to lose a weight-loss bet at the office. That got me into a gym. What kept me there was finding out that a body responds to intent, and that I had never trained with any.
Between May 2017 and the middle of 2018 I went from 244 pounds to about 200, and somewhere in there I stopped dieting and started training. I never once thought visible abs were a possibility for someone like me. When they became one, it was a whole new source of motivation, and I have been chasing that feeling, and helping other people find it, ever since.
That is the Foundation track, and I was its first client. Evolving for Strength is the name I gave to the way I coach: an advocate’s perspective, from where you are to where you’re headed. This work is about protecting what you’ve already built, while offering guidance that creates a clear path toward where you want to go.
Since then the finish lines have kept coming: 5Ks and 10Ks, half marathons, a full marathon, an ultramarathon, an Olympic-distance triathlon, and a 70.3 Ironman. None of it happened because I was gifted. It happened because somebody, at some point, saw more in me than I did, and because I learned to keep the effort and the rest of my life in balance long enough to get there.
What the years taught me, more than any program, is balance: effort against recovery, ambition against the life around it, discipline against perspective. That is what I coach, and what I advocate for in your corner.
Outside the gym I run operations for a medical education company, which is where I learned that the details are the work. I bring the same standard here.
What I will do
- Tell you the truth, with your best interest in mind.
- Change the program when your body or your life says so.
- Answer within 24 hours.
- Explain every decision until you could make it yourself.
- Fight for your potential, even when you doubt it.
What I won’t do
- Judge where you start.
- Hand you a meal plan or a diet.
- Push through pain or a warning sign.
- Pretend to be a clinician. If you need one, we get one.
You don’t need to be yelled at or optimized. You need someone grounded in your corner who will push for what you’re capable of.
Start
Let’s get to know the future you.
The first step isn’t changing anything. It’s being understood. That is how I learn where you are, and start to see where you could go. The questionnaire opens from the personal link I send you; answers save as you go and reach me when you tap Send. Don’t have a link yet? Email me and I’ll send one.
The method
The Balance Rule.
Everybody has a system now, so here’s mine. Consistency before intensity, and recovery gets a vote. That’s it. No acronym, no twelve pillars, no trademark. We aim for about 80 percent of planned sessions done as written. Not 100. Not heroics. At 80 percent, with the effort placed where it counts, progress is close to guaranteed and life still fits.
It’s a rule, not a template, and it bends to one thing only: what your body and your life tell me each week. My experience sets the direction. Your feedback sets the program. And your potential, not your comfort, sets the ceiling.
A sample week, Refinement track
Five days, upper and lower, glute and delt emphasis. Illustrative, not a prescription.
| Mon | Lower, glute focus | Hip thrust, RDL, hip abduction, ham curl. 4 to 5 working sets each, 1 to 2 reps in reserve. |
|---|---|---|
| Tue | Upper, back and arms | Row, pulldown, curls, triceps. Pump work, higher reps. |
| Wed | Rest | Walk. Sleep. The recovery vote. |
| Thu | Lower, quads and hams | Leg press, split squat, leg extension, hamstring curl. |
| Fri | Upper, chest and delts | Press, lateral raise, rear delt, no overhead pressing if shoulders say no. |
| Sat | Glute and delt pump | Short. Light. The session that makes the week add up. |
| Sun | Rest | Check-in due. |
A sample check-in
Every Sunday, five minutes, from your phone. Your answers drive next week.
What I do with it: hip thrust goes up. Lateral raises get swapped for a cable variation and we watch the shoulder. Arm volume comes down, glute volume goes up. Sleep gets a conversation, not a lecture.
What balance is not
Balance is not easy. It is the harder discipline: the one that asks you to rest when you would rather grind, and to push on the days you would rather coast.
FAQ
The short answers.
Do I need gym experience?
No. That is what the Foundation track is for. If you have never trained with intent, we start with the mechanics and the habits, in the room, at a pace that lets form come before weight. If you have years behind you, Refinement picks up where you are.
Which track am I?
Usually obvious from the questionnaire, and we settle it together at the first conversation. Nobody is put on the beginner track to be slowed down, and nobody is put on the advanced track to be flattered. Either way, I am looking for your potential from day one.
What if I miss a session?
The commitment is four sessions a month. If you cannot make one, tell me early and I will do my best to move it, as a one-time courtesy.
What happens after three months?
We re-evaluate together. Some people continue as they are. Some move from Foundation to Refinement. Some move to online only because they need less of me, which is the point. Some are done, and leave with a program they understand.
Are you a certified trainer or nutritionist?
No, and I say so up front. What I bring is the years, the mistakes, and the balance that came out of them. Read more on the About page. If you have a medical condition, an injury, or a history with food, we get the right professional involved before we start.
What does it cost?
Every program is custom tailored, so pricing is set at our first conversation, once I know what you actually need. It is always covered before anything is paid. Nothing is paid before we talk.
What equipment do I need?
Refinement: a gym with a rack, cables and dumbbells is ideal, and the program adapts to what you have. Foundation: we start with what is in the room and add as you go.
What if I have an injury or a medical condition?
Tell me in the questionnaire. Anything that needs a doctor or a physical therapist gets one before we train under load. Then we build around it.
How do check-ins work?
Every Sunday, five minutes, from your phone: sessions done, hardest set, anything that hurt, sleep, life, what you want more of. Your answers write next week’s program.
Can I cancel?
The initial block is three months. After that, month to month, and you can stop whenever you like with two weeks’ notice.
What happens to my information?
Your questionnaire and check-ins are kept privately by me and never shared. If you leave, or if I ever stop coaching, you get a copy of everything: your programs, your logs, your notes. They are yours.
How do we start?
You fill in the questionnaire. We meet, and go through it together. Nothing changes until you are understood.
Privacy
What I keep, and what I don’t.
What is collected. Your questionnaire answers, your weekly check-ins, your training logs, and any notes you add. Nothing is collected from this site unless you fill in the questionnaire.
Where it lives. In a private account I control. It is not sold, shared, or used for anything except coaching you.
Who sees it. Me. Nobody else, unless you ask me to share it with a doctor or therapist of your choosing.
Your copy. Ask at any time and you get everything, in a format you can open. If you leave, or if I stop coaching, you get it without asking.
Deleting it. Ask, and it is deleted within 30 days.

Terms
The plain version.
Working together is set out in a written agreement we both sign before anything is paid. The short version of what it says:
What this is. Training program design, general nutrition guidance, and coaching sessions. Guidance and mentorship, not medical care, not a meal plan, not physical therapy.
Your part. Honest information about your health and history, a doctor’s clearance where one is needed, and honest feedback while we work.
Commitment. An initial three-month block, then month to month with two weeks’ notice.
Sessions. Four in-person sessions a month on the in-person track. A missed session is moved on a best-efforts basis as a one-time courtesy.
Risk. Training carries risk of injury. You take part at your own risk, and you agree to stop and tell me when something hurts or feels wrong.
The signed agreement governs if anything here differs from it.
Health disclaimer
Read this before you start.
I am not a physician, a registered dietitian, a physical therapist, or a certified personal trainer. Nothing on this site or in our work together is medical advice, and it does not replace care from a licensed professional.
Before starting any training or nutrition change, talk to your doctor, especially if you have a heart condition, high blood pressure, an injury, a chronic condition, are pregnant or recently gave birth, or have a history of disordered eating. If any of those apply, I will ask for clearance before we train, and I will refer you to the right professional.
Stop any exercise that causes pain, dizziness, or chest discomfort, and seek medical attention.
